<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - JANUARY 3, 2000 <br /> <br />o <br />J <br /> <br />.4 <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a motion to <br />ratify the City appointments for 2000, as outlined in Mayor Probst's <br />memorandum dated December 29, 1999, including Committee/Task Force, <br />COilllcil Liaison and Planning Commission appointments. The motion carried <br />unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATOR COMMENTS <br /> <br />There were no Administrator comments. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Council member Larson stated that Mr. Lynch, Mr. Post and himself met with representatives of <br />the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department (L.JVFD) to discuss several ongoing issues. One <br />issue that was resolved was an agreement to include the capital expenditures recommended by <br />the L.JVFD in the City of Arden Hills 2000-2004 Capital Improvement Plan. The L.JFVD and <br />cities have agreed to support the policy that the Fire Board would control the budget of the <br />department, including the capital budget, and there would be no off-line spending from other <br />funds. The Fire Board must first approve any money that the department wants to spend on <br />capital assets. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that the Events Committee would hold their first meeting on <br />Wednesday, January] 2,2000 at 6:30 p.m. She indicated that the Committee has some ideas for <br />the Anniversary party and asked that the Council provide her with any ideas they may have for <br />this event. She stated that the upcoming meeting would be a brainstorming session among the 18 <br />current members. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem invited Councilmember Grant to the Parks and Recreation Committee <br />work session being held Saturday, January 8, 2000 from 9:00 until noon. Since the Committee <br />has a number of new members, the worksession will be an opportunity for the Committee to <br />discLlss current issLles and futurc plans. Councilmember Grant stated that he would be available <br />to attend the Parks and Recreation Committee worksession. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem moved and Councilmember Aplikowski seconded a motion <br />to urn the meeting at 7:44 p.m. The motion carr'ed unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br /> <br />NOTICE OF MEETINGS <br /> <br />. Thc next regular City Council meeting will be held Monday, January 10,2000 at 7:30 p.m. at the <br />Arden Hills Council Chambers. <br />
