APPROVAL OF MINUTES A. August 28, 2000 Regular Council Meeting Councilmember Larson requested the following changes: On page 3, second paragraph under item A, last sentence, replace "his" with "its", On page four, third paragraph, fourth line, replace "nlY'~ vvith "Staffs". With rcgard to rccommendation number one in the motion on page five, Councilmember Larson stated that he recalled that the City Council had not agreed with the Planning Commission's recommendation. He indicated that the City Council had followed City Staffs recommendation that they did not feel comfortable with providing administrative approval of the changes, The City Council had wanted this issue to go back through the Planning Commission because of the implications of the increased parking and office space, Councilmember Ap1ikowski stated that she recalled that the City Council had asked Ms, Chaput if she was comfortable with thc Planning Commission's recommendation, Ms. Chaput offercd to review Staffs memorandum related to this issue. . COlmcilmember Larson suggested that the audio tapes of the August 28'h mecting be reviewed to determine whether the motion in the minutes was correct. Councilmember Rem recalled that Ms, Chaput had asked tbat the Council not approve the Planning Commission's recommendation and that the Council had agreed, Councilmember Aplikowski stated that, with regard to the last sentence in the fourth paragraph on page nine, she did not recall making the statement that the Valentine Park was not conducive for an ice rink, She stated that she was not certain of her exact statement and asked that this sentence be stricken from the minutes, She noted that the City Council had discussed the relocation ofthe building and the reconstruction of the parking lot and she felt that her statement may have been that the ice rink was not conducive to easy flooding of the ice rink. Councilmember Rem requested the following changes: On page eight, last paragraph, change the first sentence to read, "..,receivcd a copy of an e,mail from her to Mr. Lvnch with regard to,.." On page nine first paragraph, change the first sentence to read, "She added she had contacted Mr. Lynch with regard to,.." Mayor Probst noted that on pages three and five of the minutes, corrcction bars indicating necessary corrections had been left in the final draft ofthe minutcs, .
