MEETING MINUTES <br /> eITY eOUNeIL WORKSESSION <br /> MONDAY, oeTOBER 16, 2000 <br /> 4:45 P.M. - eITY HALL, 4364 WEST ROUND LAKE ROAD <br /> eALL TO ORDER <br /> Acting Mayor Gregg Larson called the meeting to order at 4:47 p.m. Those <br /> present included Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski and David Grant. <br /> Councilmember Rem arrived at 4:53 p.m. and Mayor Probst arrived at 4:56 p.m., <br /> at which time Acting Mayor Larson turned the gavel over to Mayor Probst. <br /> Staff present included City Administrator, Joe Lynch; Public Works Director, <br /> Dwayne Stafford; Parks and Recreation Director, Tom Moore; Planner, Jennifer <br /> Chaput; and Recording Secretary, Sheila Stowell. City Accountant, Terry Post <br /> arrived at approximately 6:15 p.m. <br /> OUARTERL Y WRITTEN DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br /> Couneilmembers reviewed written quarterly department reports with staff. <br /> DEREK HAMES. SHIKARI DESIGN. INe.. LOGO DESIGN <br />. Derek Hames was present to present more finalized versions of the City's proposed new <br /> logo. <br /> 1t was the consensus of the Council that the centered design was preferable. <br /> After Council discussion, Mr. Hames was directed to return with paper samples; with and <br /> without lines separating information by moving text to bottom; and newsletter and sign <br /> samples. Mr. Hames reminded Couneilmembers of an upcoming meeting with the City <br /> Event Task Force, and stated he would like to know the preferred logo prior to that <br /> meeting. <br /> STAFF DlSeUSSION ITEMS <br /> PUBLIe WORKS DEPARTMENT <br /> Proposed Ordinance Amendment (Grease Traps) <br /> Mr. Stafford advised Councilmembers that recent televising ofthe City's sanitary sewer <br /> system has provided evidence of numerous grease clogs. Staff is recommending a <br /> proposed ordinance amendment requiring grease traps for city restaurants, to reduce <br /> maintenance. Staff would request Council action at a future regular Council meeting. <br />. <br />
