<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - APRIL 26, 1999 <br /> <br />18 <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson stated that he was pleased that the committee restructuring has been <br />completed, He commended staff for their hard work and stated that he was amazed by the <br />amount of work accomplished by the City staff. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone stated that a developer who had suggested the construction of a fitness <br />club in the Gateway Business District had approached him. He informed the developer that he <br />did not believe this was something that the City Council would be interested in, Mayor Probst <br />agreed that this would not be a use he would hope for in that area, Councilmember Larson stated <br />that there would not be enough room for a high-quality fitness club. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski asked that the City maps be updated with the name changes of some <br />of the City streets such as County Road F to Valentine Lake Road. She also asked that <br />references to trailer parks be changed to mobile home parks, <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski stated that she would be attending the open house for the Pilgrim <br />House, <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski invited anyone who may be interesting in attending the League of <br />Minnesota Cities meeting in Rochester with her. She indicated that there would be an emphasis <br />on youth this year, Mayor Probst encouraged attendance at this meeting as it is well worth the <br />time and stated that he will try to attend the meeting himself. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski expressed her appreciation to staff for their continued hard work. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that she will be attending the Pilgrim House open house and she <br />would also like to join Councilmember Aplikowski in attending the League of Minnesota Cities <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that the Newly Elected Officials meeting was very helpful. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that she attended the Neighborhood Night Out in New Brighton. <br />She also attended the open house for the Bond Referendum at Valentine Hills School. She <br />indicated that the School District is looking for contributions for advertising and volunteers for <br />the phone banle <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that he received a letter from the Minnesota Commercial Railway and it <br />seemed to be warmer than previous correspondence. He asked that staff reiterate the importance <br />of a cooperative with the City of New Brighton, <br /> <br />Mayor Probst requested additional information regarding the car and boat complaints in single <br />family areas. He asked if these were isolated incidences or if complaints were occurring all over <br />the City, Mr. Fritsinger stated that this is the time ofthe year when people are taking boats out <br />of storage and often they are parked outside. <br />
