He believed that a copy of the book <br />was available at tlle City. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone referred to a letter in the non-agenda packet from a resident expressing <br />concern regarding the installation of television cable in their front yard. He noted that this is a <br />public utility being instaIled in a public right-of-way. Mr. Fritsinger stated that staff would be <br />responding to the resident with a letter. He had been searching for specific language from the <br />FCC that aIlows this instaIlation in a public right-of-way. He noted that at times the cable <br />company does not do a good job of restoring areas in which they dig and Media One has been <br />contacted and requested that they do a better job. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that it would help ifthe cable company were to announce to the residents <br />when they intend to instaIl cable. Mr. Fritsinger stated that they do inform the residents ahead of <br />time and this was what prompted the complaint. <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson asked if the cable company was obligated to restore the areas in which <br />they install cable. Mr. Fritsinger stated that Mr. Stafford has put together a certain agreement <br />with all public utilities informing them of what the City's expectations are for restoration. <br />However, there is no clear cut right-of-way ordinance spelling out the expectations, and one may <br />be forth coming. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski noted that the letter sent out the residcnts informs them that the <br />utility company will try to inconvenience them as little as possible. She indicated that the letter <br />is often sent out so far in advance that the residents sometimes forget. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem stated that she attended the Pilgrim House Church Open House dedication <br />on Sunday, May 9, 1999. She indicated that one of the members, an architect, had made a point <br />that Arden HiIls staff has been very helpful and courteous and wanted to thank the City staff. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that correspondence had been received two weeks ago regarding the under- <br />grounding of electric lines. He asked that staff look into this information in order for the City to <br />position itself to direct NSP to instaIllines underground wherever possible. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst commended the Public Works stafffor the clean up ofthe sanitary sewer <br />forcemain break which occurred two weeks ago. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that, on May 19, 1999, the I-35W Corridor Coalition will be recognized for <br />its cooperative efforts with the Governor's commendation. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that an anonymous letter had been received regarding the Parks and <br />Recreation programming. He noted that it would be difficult to respond to this letter as it is <br />unknown who sent it. Mr. Fritsinger stated that staff has had some discussions with the School <br />District and this is an issue that the City will have to work through. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst noted that the Clarks on Lake Johanna Boulevard had circulated a letter which <br />advocates that the City consider maintaining control over what happens on that roadway.
