<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - AUGUST 9, 1999 <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski reiterated her desire to immediately appoint a City Events Task <br />Force, due to the time-consuming nature of the planning, particularly related to the City's <br />upcoming 50th anniversary in 2001. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski advised Mayor Probst and Councilmembers that she would be <br />unavailable for the Council's Worksession, scheduled for Monday, August 16, 1999. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski expressed her appreciate of Mr. Fritsinger, specifically stating his <br />diplomacy in relating to Councilmembers, residents and staff. She personally thanked Mr. <br />Fritsinger for his diligence in reinstating the City's newsletter. <br /> <br />Councilmember Rem expressed her appreciation ofMr. Fritsinger, both as a resident and a <br />Councilmember, and stated that she was aware that numerous residents of the community shared <br />this sentiment. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst brought to the attention of the Council the request by Mr. Post for several salary <br />and benefit adjustments during his service as Interim City Administrator. <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone moved and Councilmember Aplikowski seconded a <br />motion to make the requested adjustments, as outlined in Mr. Post's memorandum <br />to the City Council, for pay augmentation; car allowance allocations; and one- <br />time vacation accrual, to become effective with Payroll #17, and continue until the <br />position is filled. The motion also included the provision for the City to payout <br />Mr. Fritsinger's unused vacation and applicable benefits to September 3, 1999. <br />The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that, through the many hours spent with Mr. Fritsinger working on <br />numerous issues for the City, he appreciated Mr. Fritsinger's professionalism, and valued him as <br />a professional acquaintance and personal friend. Mayor Probst, on behalf of the City Council <br />and the City of Arden Hills, read and presented a service plaque to Mr. Fritsinger. <br /> <br />ADJOURN <br /> <br />MOTION: <br /> <br />Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Malone seconded a motion to <br />adjourn the meeting at 10:10 p.m. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />Mayor Probst and the City Council, along with former Councilmembers Dale Hicks and Susan <br />Keirn hosted a farewell reception, in honor of City Administrator Fritsinger. <br /> <br /> <br />~lJp <br /> <br />Terrance R.
