<br />ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL - SEPTEMBER 13, 1999 <br /> <br />24 <br /> <br />. Councilmember Aplikowski stated that she had heard the Healthy Youth Coalition would be <br />holding a Town Hall meeting, however, she had not received any information regarding this <br />event. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that he received a newsletter from the City of New Brighton that included a <br />nice article about the history of the water system and the influence of the Arsenal npon it. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst commended stafl for the survey results on the softball program, which were very <br />positive. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that the Clean up Day with Shoreview would be coming up soon. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that Mr. Post had provided the Councilmembers with a handout regarding <br />the Committee Recognition event. He hoped the Councilmembers would be involved and that <br />there would be a good turnout. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that he received an invitation to attend a Red Cross dinner event that he will <br />not be able to attend. He stated that the event will include a guest speaker and will celebrate <br />volunteerism. The dinner will be held Thursday, September 23, 1999 and he invited the <br />Councilmembers to attend. RSVP's must be received by Wednesday, September 15,1999. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that the individual he had hoped to forward to the Metropolitan Council for <br />the Parks and Open Space Commission appointment had not worked out and the City did not <br />forward any other nominations. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that staff had been interested in having Cable Commission representatives, <br />Coralie Wilson and Dave Sand visit with the City Council. Mr. Post stated that Dave Sand was <br />tentatively scheduled to attend the Council Work session on September 20, 1999. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst noted that the City Council had discussed some sort ofrecognition of the local <br />baseball teams. He felt this issue had become more complicated than he had anticipated. He had <br />received some correspondence from the little leagues that had identified some teams that have <br />done well and he felt that all the teams should be recognized in the near future. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst suggested that tile City Council discuss the next step in the hiring process for a <br />new City Administrator. He had received copies of all the resumes sent in response to this <br />position and sorted these resumes into several different categories. He indicated that most of <br />those that he had selected in his first and second cut where included on the list from <br />COlillcilmembers Larson and Aplikowski. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Probst stated that at this point the Council must decide how to reduce the list of <br />candidates down to a shorter list to interview. He did not feel there was an obvious cut-off <br />number. <br />
