Parks, Trails & Recreation Committee – February 18, 2025 Page 11 <br /> <br />Committee Member Johnson provided an update on the Ice Swim Event coming to Lake <br />Johannah on February 22nd. She said there are 100 swimmers signed up. Former Olympian, Cody <br />Miller will be there. There are a lot of well-known, open-water swimmers coming. It should be a <br />fun event. There are over 500 luminaries made. <br /> <br />Committee Member Olson asked if the event organizers received approval to open the back <br />parking lot. <br /> <br />Committee Member Johnson confirmed. They had plowed it once but then it snowed again. This <br />will be cleared for the event. <br /> <br />Committee Member Jacobson said each neighborhood on the lake has a station for the luminary. <br />It looks like the weather is going to be good, too. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding luminary events in the past. <br /> <br />Committee Member Rogers thinks this event is a great segway to start thinking about 2026, and <br />a bigger event. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />MOTION: Committee Member Olson moved and Committee Member Johnson seconded a <br />motion to adjourn at 7:33 pm. The motion carried unanimously among members present. <br />
