<br />, . <br /> <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />Village of Ardon Hills <br />Monday, January 13, 1975 - 8:00 p.m. <br />V i I I age Ha I I <br /> <br />Ca II to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Crepeau at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Present - Mayor Henry J. Crepeau, Jr., Councilmen Charles Crichton, <br />Robert Woodburn, William Feyereisen, James Wingert. <br />Absent - None. <br />Also Present - Attorney James Lynden, Treasurer Richard O'Kelly, <br />Parks Director John Buckley, Clerk Administrator Charlotte <br />McNlesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />App-roval of Minutes <br />Wingert moved, seconded by Crichton, that Minutes of Council Meet- <br />ing of December 23, 1974, December 30, 1974 and January 2, 1975, <br />be approved as amended. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR <br /> <br />C. G. Rein - Amended Special Use Permit <br />Mr. Randy Samuelson and Mr. Mike Rich were present and presented <br />an amended landscape and site plan indicating proposed changes for <br />the Arden Plaza development, after meeting with Planner Fredlund <br />and his staff and various representatives of the Village Committees <br />and Village staff. <br /> <br />Mr. Rich described the changes, which relat~d to parking, traffic <br />patterns, roof screenlny, compactor screening, slgnage and graphics <br />and landscaping. He explained that the changes, as presented, are <br />conclusions to which Fredlund and the Rein staff have concurred: <br />I <br /> <br />Parking: Revised plan proposes a change to 600 angle parking, <br />in two areas, providing batter orientation and traffic <br />flow; parallel parking in areas west and south of <br />shopping center; perpendicular parking elsewhere - <br />providing a total of 407 stalls (405 required). <br /> <br />Traffic Flow: Revised plan shows 3D' wide entrances from east <br />and north: 25' wide interior lanes for two-way traf- <br />fic; 26' wide lanes along west side of shopping <br />center building; 18' wide lanes for one-way traffic; <br />16' wide v~e-way lanes in office parking area. <br /> <br />Rich noted that a 5' wide walkway along west side of <br />building (shopping center) Is provided, and indicated <br />locations of meters which are protected by guard posts. <br /> <br />Comnactor Screenlno. Compactor is provided with a 10' screen. <br /> <br />Roof-top <br /> <br />Equipment Screening: Rich explained that rooftop <br />screening, on the multi-shop area has been substan- <br />tially comp!eted; providing 4t' high redwood fencing <br />of mechanical equipment on three sides and by the <br />mezzanine on the 4th side of the super-market portion <br />of the building. Rich explained that the redwood <br />screening has been extended to cover the entire roof <br />of the multi-shop building. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />South Boundary Screening: Rich explained that a planting screen <br />was favored for screening to the south of the site, <br />and stated that, after discussing the matter with <br />Dreyfus, I. C. Systems and Planner Fredlund, they are <br />proposing a row of Black Hill Spruce..-5' to 6' in <br />height, as Indicated on plan (1-'6-75) 8' onto Dreyfus <br />and I. C. Systems properties; stating that both I. C. <br />Systems and Dreyfus have Indicated they are amenable <br />to this approach.
