Hydrology Model Results – 2022-2023 <br />The hydrology model performs well through mid- <br />August but over-predicts later lake levels for 2022- <br />2023. <br />This may be due to drought conditions. Recent <br />studies of Turtle Lake and others report that low <br />ground water tables can create a “negative vortex” <br />where water is depleted through springs. <br />While springs do not appear to be a source of <br />water for Karth Lake, they could reduce water <br />levels during extreme drought.
