Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Park System Planning – Professional Services Agreement <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> $75,000 $78,400 PIR - Parks <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br /> <br />• Accepting the proposal for consulting services from Bolton & Menk in the amount not- <br />to-exceed of $78,400, for developing the City of Arden Hills Parks Master Plan project. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />The city understands the need for an updated Parks Master Plan and with direction from the City <br />Council, staff-initiated discussions with the Bolton & Menk team to properly scope the planning <br />process to meet the needs of the city for a Parks Master Plan. Through a series of discussions <br />with the consulting team and the City Council and staff, the consultants have prepared a proposal <br />for developing the Arden Hills Parks Master Plan. <br /> <br />Based on the discussion from the March 10, 2025, City Council Work Session, the Council <br />concurred with the scope of work, schedule, and cost of the project. Direction from Council was <br />to include the alternative service of enhanced survey and project marketing into the base fee of <br />the proposal to make sure the plan is community-driven and has inclusive engagement as a <br />priority. The attached proposal reflects the changes from the council’s comments. <br /> <br />The Bolton & Menk project team is prepared to immediately begin the project initiation upon <br />approval by the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
