Public Works Director / City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Old Highway 10 Trail Improvements —Metropolitan Council Regional <br />Solicitation Safe Routes to School Grant Agreement <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br />Council Should Consider <br />Motions to approve, table, or deny the following: <br />• Metropolitan Council Regional Solicitation Safe Routes to School Grant Agreement <br />in the amount of $1,000,000. <br />Background/Discussion <br />On August 28, 2024, the City of Arden Hills was awarded the Metropolitan Council Regional <br />Solicitation SRTS Grant in the amount of $1,000,000. <br />Attachment A is the related Grant Agreement with Metropolitan Council. City Staff recommends <br />the City Council approve the Grant Agreement and then will forward to Metropolitan Council to <br />obtain a fully executed document. <br />Staff reviewed the terms of the agreement to see when payments can be requested and found that <br />a signed construction contract is required before the initial 50% advance payment can be <br />released. <br />Budget Impact <br />The Old Highway 10 Trail Improvements project is in the proposed 2025-2029 CIP and <br />tentatively scheduled for 2026 construction, project funding would be derived from the City's <br />PIR-Parks fund, Municipal State Aid (MSA), Ramsey County cost -share and grant funding. <br />Pagel of 2 <br />
