Crepoau, Jr. <br />AJso Present - Planner Richard Fredlund, Treasurer Donald Lamb, <br />Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNie.h, Deputy Clerk <br />Dorothy Zehm <br />. <br /> <br />Publ ic Hearing Re Proposed Adoption ~ }lew Zoning Ordinance and <br />Nell' Zoning Map <br />Acting Mayor Crichton oponed the Public Hearing at 8: 10 p.m. and <br />explained that a synopsis of the proposed new Zoning Ordinance and <br />map would be presented b~ Vi llage Planning Consultant Richard <br />Fredlund (Wehrman-Chapman and Associatesl after II'hlch conments <br />and questions could be directed to him from the audience. Crichton <br />advised that the Council wil I not take any action at ton"ght's <br />meeting and will not debate any issues; Counci I will hear the thoughts <br />and desires of the residents and/or property owners, and accept <br />written statements tonight or during the coming week at ~he Village <br />office. <br /> <br />Planner Fredlund explained that the proposed new Zoning Ordinance <br />and Map are based on the recently adopted Comprehensive Plan for <br />Arden Hills and is ?J revision of the existing Zoning Ordinance con- <br />sisting of three major changes: <br />I. Consolidation end reorganization of contents. <br />2. Expanded definition section. <br />3. Revision of Zoning Districts. <br /> <br />Fredlund explained that a new ordinance is being proposed because the <br />existing ordinance End emendments thereto is difficult to read and <br />cross-referonce; therefore, difficult to understand and interpret. <br /> <br />Fredlund projected transparencies of the Existing Zoning Map and pro- <br />posed new Zoning Map, pointing out the changes proposed; also proJec- <br />ted transparencies of the existing and proposed land USe and District <br />Requirements charts, indicating proposed changes in the various zoning <br />districts. <br /> <br />Fredlund d8scribed the proposed new R-3 and R-4 residential districts <br />which he said wili permit 4i units/acre IR-3) and up to 12 units/acre <br />(R-4).
