Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM – 3D <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />DATE: May 27, 2025 <br /> <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br /> <br />FROM: Jessica Jagoe, City Administrator <br /> <br />SUBJECT: 75th Anniversary Subcommittee Discussion <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Council should discuss and provide direction to staff on the 75th Anniversary Subcommittee. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />At the February 10th Work Session, the City Council discussed next steps for the 75th anniversary <br />planning. Items for discussion include consideration of the following: <br />• Formation of a 75th anniversary subcommittee (i.e. Councilmember(s), residents, <br />business owners, committee/commission members, staff, etc.) that plans and brings forth <br />recommendations to the full City Council <br />• Develop a 75th city logo <br />• Purchase promotional items (i.e. pens, clothing, magnets) <br />• Create a history book <br />• Special commemorative event <br /> <br />Direction was given to form a subcommittee that would be open to the public and to generally <br />keep the committee size to less than ten participants. There is an article featured in the <br />April/May newsletter to recruit for volunteers for the subcommittee. Interested volunteers <br />should apply by June 30th to be considered. Details are not yet known for exact time <br />commitment and will largely be dependent upon the committee availability and planning efforts. <br /> <br />Staff is looking for direction from the City Council on Council and staff appointments to the 75th <br />Anniversary Subcommittee. Council should discuss interest in one or two Councilmembers <br />being involved with the planning efforts. City staff participation will likely be the City <br />Administrator, Senior Communications Coordinator, and City Clerk/Deputy Clerk. <br /> <br />Future appointments of public members to the subcommittee would be brought forward to the <br />City Council for approval similar to Committees/Commissions.
