Public Works Director / City Engineer <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Arden Hills Public Works Design Manual – Lighting Palette <br /> <br /> Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br /> N/A N/A N/A <br /> <br />Council Should Consider <br /> <br />Council should consider the lighting palette options proposed to be included in the Arden Hills <br />Public Works Design manual. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />The Arden Hills TCAAP Redevelopment Code references a street and trail lighting palette to be <br />followed within the Arden Hills Public Works Design Manual. Currently, this lighting palette <br />does not exist. <br /> <br />Xcel Energy provides outdoor lighting options for Arden Hills, which can be seen within <br />Attachment A. City staff has provided recommendations for these options as follows: <br />• The Cobra luminaire with Pole Style A – Aluminum, will be used on streets (boxed in <br />green). <br /> <br />• The Traditional, Lantern and Modern luminaires are being considered for trail lighting <br />(boxed in yellow). <br /> <br />• The Fiberglass, Style B – Columbus, and Style C – Washington pole styles boxed in <br />yellow are being considered for along trails. <br /> <br />All lighting is proposed to be Light Emitting Diode (LED) with typical lumens for street lighting <br />at 14,000 and trail lighting at 4,000. All electrical is proposed as underground installation. <br />
