Water Distribution System Hydraulic Model Calibration and System Evaluation Report
Chapter 4 – Water Demand Allocation
December 2019

P05049-2019-000 Page 14

4.3 Existing System Demands
The demands used within the hydraulic model for the existing system are presented in Table
4.1. These demands can be used to evaluate the existing system because they are representative
of previous usage patterns experienced historically. Based on historical flow meter data
provided by Roseville, the demand for Arden Hills was assumed to be 20% of the demand
served by the Roseville Booster Station. Using the projected population from the Arden Hills
Draft 2040 Comp Plan and the flow meter data, the usage was converted to gallons per capita
per day (gpcd) and million gallons per day (MGD).
Arden Hills Population
(2018 projected)
9,919 people
Average Day Demand (ADD) 99.6 gpcd 1.0 MGD
Maximum Day Demand (MDD) 246.4 gpcd
w/ 2.5 peaking factor
2.5 MGD
Table 4.1: Existing System Demands
