<br />,- <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Minutes of Regular Council Meeting <br />Village of Arden Hills <br />Monday, May 11,1981 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Village Hall <br /> <br />Call to Order <br />Acting Mayor Woodburn called the meeting to order at 7:30 p... <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />Preaent - <br /> <br />Acting Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Janet <br />Hollenhorat, Diane McAllister, Maurice Johnaon. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Absent - Mayor Charlie Crichton <br /> <br />Also Present - Attorney Jamea Lynden, Engineer Donald Chriatofferaen, <br />Treasurer Donald Lamb, Planner Orlyn Miller, Clerk <br />Adminiatrator Charlotte McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy <br />Zehm <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Hollenhorst moved, aeconded by McAllister, that the Minutea of the <br />April 27th Council Meeting be approved as amended. Motion carried <br />unanimoualy. <br /> <br />~u8ines8fr~m the FI~or <br />Mr. David Sand, 1989 Jerrold Ave., expresaed concerns relative to <br />aazelnut Park and Pedestrian Trail use; reported recent instances: <br /> <br />-4-wheel drive vehicle drixing recklessly across the recently <br />graded park, making a 180 turn and then leaving via the <br />pedeatrian trail. <br /> <br />-trail used by bicyclea and motor bikes. <br /> <br />Sanda auggested that consideration be given to installation of <br />"speed bumps" on the trail; also suggested was additional scout- <br />ing by the Sheriff's department in an effort to enforce the ordi- <br />nance; stated that it is a nuisance issue as well as a safety <br />problem for hikers (children and adults). <br /> <br />Woodburn explained that enforcement ie difficult on the trails, but <br />patrolling can be increased; noted that the installation of stilea <br />at the trail access points was considered, but this trail has <br />numerous access points. <br /> <br />McAlliater said she will refer the .atter to the Parks Committee <br />at ita meeting on Tuesday. <br /> <br />Miller reported that seeding of the berm area hae been completed; <br />balance of park area eeeding is pending final grading by the con- <br />tractor; grading should be completed within a couple days and then <br />it will be seeded. <br /> <br />-. <br /> <br />Resignation - Mayor Charlie Crichton <br />Acting Mayor Woodburn announced the receipt of a letter of reaig- <br />nation from Kayor Charlie ~Grichton; noted that Kayor Cricbton baa <br />diligently served Arden Hills for many years; because of recent <br />circumstances, feels be cannot at this time serve the residents in <br />the manner he had anticipsted when seeking office. <br /> <br />Hollenborst expreased Council's regret that tbis <br />wish; moved to accept his resignation as Kayar. <br />by McAlli~ter and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />is Kayar Crichton'a <br />Motion was seconded <br /> <br />Resolution No. 81-31 <br />McAllister moved, aeconded by Johnson, tbat Council adopt Reaolution <br />No. 81-31, RESOLUTION COMMENDING CHARLIE CRICHTON FOR HIS YEARS OF <br />SERVICE TO THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT AND ACCEP- <br />TANCE OF HIS RESIGNATION AS MAYOR, AND DECLARING THAT A VACANCY <br />EXISTS AS MAYOR. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
