He will report to <br />Council at the next regular meeting. <br /> <br />Winkel reported the water loss figures aJ;Pear to show a large diSCl:"epancy at <br />approximately the sarne time the new water tower began operating; this is an <br />unusual occurrence and he is checking the situation with the engineering <br />consultants . <br /> <br />MISCELIANEDUS; <br />TIME SHEEI'S <br />SAIARIED EMPLY' S <br /> <br />CouncilJnember Malone commented he did not agree with <br />concept of requiring salaried employees to CClITplete <br />time sheets. <br /> <br />Clerk Administrator Berger explained Council expressed concern relative to a <br />flex-time policy and the proposed time sheet was drafted for review by Council. <br /> <br />Council1nerober Hansen suggested the matter be discussed at the February <br />worksession meeting, in conjunction with salaries. <br /> <br />MISCELUlNEDUS; <br />ACI'IVITY' RPl'S. <br /> <br />CouncilJnember Hansen thanked the Department Heads for <br />the weekly activity reports. <br /> <br />IABOR NB:;' S <br /> <br />Mayor Sather questioned the mediation notice received <br />from the union. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Berger advised the mediation filing is a routine procedure; it does not <br />necessarily reflect a rejection of the offer made by the city to settle wages. <br /> <br />DISCUSSION; <br />INTERIM USE <br />LEXINGION AVE. <br />SIUDY AREA <br /> <br />Mayor Sather infonned Council he was awroached by <br />Scott Roberts, property owner on Lexington Avenue, <br />regarding an interim use of the facility located at <br />3771 Lexington Avenue. <br /> <br />Sather noted the Plarming commission meeting scheduled for February was <br />cancelled, since no applications were receive:i. He stated the proposed tenant of <br />the facility is workin:J under a time-frame which does not allow a delay of four <br />to six weeks and suggested scheduling a Council meeting to discuss the interim <br />use of the facilities. The Mayor requested staff contact the Plarmer to determine <br />if he has sufficient time to prepare a report on this matter by 1/30/91. <br /> <br />Mayor Sather explained the review of the interim use will include a determination <br />by Council if the proposed use of the property for a three-year pericrl will <br />impede redevelopment of this area and if it is beneficial to utilize the facility <br />over the next three years or allow it to remain partially vacant. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Council directed staff to contact the City Atto:rney to determine the legal <br />process for holding a special meeting and if there is sufficient time for <br />notification of such meeting. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Winkel expressed concern regarding reconfiguration of the inside of <br />the facility; suggested plans be reviewed by the Fire Marshal and Building <br />Inspector. <br />
