Figure No. 2 shows a complete representation of all vehicles traveling southbound as they relate <br />to speed percentile. <br />MnDOT standard for street speed evaluation is to set the speed limit to the 85th percentile which <br />in this case is 41-mph, indicating this roadway should be set at 40-mph based on the data. Other <br />values to consider is the 501h percentile which is 34-mph and that only 14% of the traffic travels <br />at the current 25-mph speed limit or lower. <br />If the City Council wishes to change the speed limit on Old Snelling, no ordinance amendment is <br />needed, the existing language allows for this flexibility. <br />Budget Impact <br />Following Council direction from the last meeting this item was discussed, Public Works ordered <br />the materials for a 35 mph signage which totaled $196. <br />Attachments <br />N/A <br />Page 3 of 3 <br />
