Life safety system devices <br />Control panel <br />Defibrillator <br />Useful Life: Up to 25 years for the devices and up to 15 years for the control panel <br />Preventative Maintenance Notes: We recommend the building obtain and adhere to <br />the manufacturer's recommended maintenance plan. In accordance with NFPA 72 <br />(National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code) we also recommend the building maintain a <br />maintenance contract with a qualified professional. The required preventative <br />maintenance may vary in frequency and scope based on the age of the components, <br />operational condition, or changes in technology. We note the following select <br />recommended preventative maintenance activities to maximize the remaining useful life: <br />• Semi-annually: <br />o Inspect and test all components and devices, including, but not <br />limited to, control panels, annunciators, detectors, audio/visual <br />fixtures, signal transmitters and magnetic door holders <br />o Test backup batteries <br />• As -needed: <br />o Ensure clear line of access to components such as pull stations <br />o Ensure detectors are properly positioned and clean of debris <br />Priority/Criticality: Defer only upon opinion of independent professional or engineer <br />Page 4.27 - Reserve Component Detail <br />
