Attachment B <br />PUD Dublic benefit examples <br />Example 1 <br />Public Benefit. The Planned Unit Development plan provides a public benefit that justifies the <br />flexibility from standards granted as part of the approval. Qualifying public benefits shall include: <br />(a) Provision of long-term affordable housing; <br />(b) Greater preservation of existing natural resources, in number or quality, than would otherwise <br />be provided under non-PUD development; <br />(c) Greater energy conservation through building or site design, or through utilization of a <br />renewable energy source, than would otherwise be achieved under non-PUD development; <br />(d) Inclusion of innovative stormwater management techniques that provide capacity for <br />infiltrating stormwater beyond what is required by the city or watershed district; <br />(e) Incorporation of elements that support mass transit or other alternative modes of <br />transportation; <br />(f) Enhanced placemaking through the inclusion of visible and accessible public art; or <br />(g) Others public benefits proposed for consideration by the applicant and recognized by the city. <br />Example 2 <br />Public Benefit. <br />PUD zoning may be considered by the City Council when it would result in at least one of the <br />following public benefits that are above what would otherwise be achieved under non-PUD <br />development: <br />A. Provision of affordable housing; <br />B. Provision of a mix of housing types and price points; <br />C. Greater preservation of natural resources; <br />D. Greater energy conservation or utilization of a renewable energy source; <br />E. Inclusion of innovative stormwater management techniques that provide capacity for <br />infiltrating stormwater beyond what is required by the City or watershed district; <br />F. Incorporation of elements that support mass transit or other alternative modes of <br />transportation; <br />G. Enhanced placemaking through the inclusion of public or semi-public gathering spaces, <br />recreational amenities for a range of ages and abilities, increased landscaping, or visible <br />and accessible public art; <br />
