AGENDA ITEM - 3D <br />'!Tt <br />-ADEN HILLS <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: August 11, 2025 <br />TO: Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers <br />FROM: Jessica Jagoe, City Administrator <br />Laura Michlig, Senior Communications Coordinator <br />SUBJECT: State of the City Discussion <br />Budgeted Amount: Actual Amount: Funding Source: <br />N/A N/A N/A <br />Council Should Consider <br />Council should discuss and provide feedback on State of the City (SOTC) future planning. <br />Backiround <br />The City Council has selected Saturday, September 201h, 2025 for the SOTC address to be held at <br />City Hall. The SOTC process is about a three to four month process from start to finish. The list <br />below highlights the work session meetings that lead up to the SOTC: <br />• Meeting #1: Discuss setting a date, location, marketing/outreach, topics, etc. <br />• Meeting #2: Council members review the final topics, assign presenters, and <br />determine the Q&A format or any other notable changes or updates to the <br />annual event. <br />• Meeting #3: Council members provide feedback on the first draft of the SOTC <br />presentation. <br />Discussion <br />For this work session discussion, staff is bringing forth the planning items listed in Meeting #2. <br />Staff would request that Council discuss and make decisions on the following items: <br />• Marketing & Outreach: <br />o Newsletter promotion in Aug/Sept edition (save the date) <br />o Digital promotion on the City website, social media (including Facebook event), <br />and City TV channel <br />o Postcard mailer to local businesses <br />o Other? <br />Pagel of 2 <br />
