<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Village <br />Monday, <br />Village <br /> <br />of Regular Council Meeting <br />of Arden Hills <br />June 13, 1983 - 7:30 p.m. <br />Hall <br /> <br />Call to Order <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Woodburn called <br />the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br /> <br />Present - <br /> <br />Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Dale Hicks, <br />Diane McAllister, Michael Christiansen, Thomas <br />Mulcahy. <br /> <br />Absent - <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also Present - Planner Orlyn Miller, Clerk Administrator Charlotte <br />McNiesh, Deputy Clerk Dorothy Zehm. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br />In discussion of proposed corrections" to the Minutes of May 23rd <br />by Councilman Mulcahy, Mulcahy said he feels his proposed changes <br />make the Minutes more "neutral". McAlliater said she has no <br />problem with the corrections, but does not see the reason for <br />them. Woodburn expressed concern that the suggested changes <br />change the ~ of the Minutes. <br /> <br />Mulcahy moved that the propoaed corrections be approved, seconded <br />by Hicks. Motion carried. (Mulcahy, Hicks, Christiansen voting <br />in favor of the motion, Woodburn and McAllister voting in opposition. <br />( 3- 2) . <br /> <br />Hicks moved, seconded by McAllister, that the Minutes of the <br />Regular Council Meeting of May 23rd be approved as amended. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (~-u) <br /> <br />Christiansen moved, seconded by Mulcahy, that the Minutes of the <br />Special Council Meeting of May 31st be approved as submitted. <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />Business from the Floor <br /> <br />Charles Fish.J__3132 Brighton Way South, presented two petitions <br />to the Council: <br /> <br />1. (Signed by 26 residents) urging the City of Arden <br />H111s and the Ramsey County Sheriff Department to <br />post the vicinity of Charles Perry Park as a "Slow- <br />Children", Reduce Speed Zone". <br /> <br />2. (Signed by 28 residents) urging the City of Arden <br />Hills and the Ramsey County Sheriff Department to <br />reduce the speed limit on New Brighton Road from <br />County Road E to County Road E2 to 30 miles per <br />hour. <br /> <br />Mr. Fish said the residents feel that Perry Park is "over utilized" <br />for softball; there are not enough facilities for the area resi- <br />entJS. Fish said there are no tennis courts; there are 2-3 soft- <br />ball games a._night; parking is inadequate and New Brighton Road <br />gets the overflow as well as speeders and excess traffic. Fish <br />said the screening of the park from the residential area is in- <br />adequate; bushes haven't grown; snow fence has fallen down. Fish <br />said the residents would like one ball field replaced with tennis <br />courts; want to see the area around the park posted "Slow-Children", <br />"Park", "Blind Access" "No Beer Drinking"; want more patrol by <br />
