To provide our organizations the ability to view and access data beyond their own <br />boundaries and leverage the expertise of partner organization. <br />To share geospatial data among all levels of government to assist them with their <br />workflows. <br />How does the User Group work and what does it cost? <br />Two Joint Powers Agreements have been established, one between the Ramsey County <br />GIS User Group Members and a second one between the RCGISUG and Ramsey <br />County. These two Joint Power Agreements have the following purposes: <br />To facilitate cost sharing for imagery data that is needed by all levels of <br />government, enabling the cities and watershed management units to benefit <br />from the contracting, vendor selection and procurement work conducted by <br />Ramsey County <br />To enable the members of the User Group to act and speak on behalf of their <br />respective agency's interest in matters relating to the creation, access, sharing <br />and use of geospatial data. <br />Funding: Each organization pays a one-time membership fee of $500. Annual fees will <br />be levied each year with an organization committing to a three-year participation upon <br />joining the group. The fee amount for an organization is based on the latest census <br />population. <br />Function: The User Group convenes quarterly to conduct its business, review projects <br />and initiatives and engage with one another to promote its work. All User Group <br />meetings are open to all public and private individuals and organizations. <br />What have we achieved so far? <br />Lead organization to introduce GIS knowledge and technology to government <br />organization operating in Ramsey County government organizations. <br />Received the Governor's Geospatial Commendation Award in 2003. <br />Integral organization in creating new countywide GIS datasets such as pathways, <br />recreation facilities, address points, storm data. <br />
