. . <br /> • <br /> Economic Development Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> November 17, 1994 <br /> 8 : 00 a.m. <br /> Army Reserve Center <br /> 1 . The meeting was called to order at 8 : 04 a.m. <br /> 2 . Present were Arnold Lindberg, Dan McCallum, Tom <br /> Goblirsch, Robb Carlson, Jr. , Council Liason Beverly <br /> Aplikowski, Finance Liason, Thomas Steele, Community <br /> Planning Coordinator Brian Fritsinger. <br /> 3 . The minutes from the October 20 , 1994 meeting were <br /> approved. <br /> 4 . Monthly Activities <br /> Staff provided an update as to the monthly activities <br /> of staff in the area of economic development . This <br /> included TCAAP, Round Lake and the other miscellaneous <br /> contracts . <br /> 5 . Marketing Packet <br /> Discussion started with comments about the city <br /> newsletter. The Committee was unanimous in that the <br /> current newsletter is not the communication tool <br /> preferred by this Committee . Mr. Steele commented that <br /> the Town Crier was to the point and informative rather <br /> than glitzy like the current newsletter. The Town <br /> Crier was able to answer the questions of local <br /> citizens in a casual approach. <br /> This conversation was based on staff ' s comments which <br /> tried to show the relationship between the newsletter, <br /> city handbook and marketing packet . The Committee <br /> commented that the handbook could be effective to deal <br /> with residential questions and the marketing packet for <br /> businesses . <br />
