• Economic Development Committee Meeting Minutes <br /> April 21, 1994 <br /> Shoreview Community Center <br /> 1 . The meeting was called to order at 7 : 15 a.m. <br /> 2 . Present were Terry Nagle, Trygve Egge, Tom Goblirsch, <br /> Steve Freimuth, Mary Miller, Jerry Moehnke, Arnold <br /> Lindberg, Community Planning Coordinator Fritsinger and <br /> Finance Committee Liaison Thomas Steele . Absent was <br /> Dan McCallum. <br /> 3 . Miller moved, seconded by Moehnke, to approve the <br /> March 17, 1994 minutes . <br /> 4 . Business Survey <br /> The committee discussed a possible follow up to the <br /> businesses who didn' t respond. This is something that <br /> could be done long term, maybe over the next six <br /> months . <br /> 411 The Committee needs to respond to those businesses <br /> indicating a need for space or are upset with the City. <br /> This would require personal visits . Mary Miller, Jerry <br /> Moehnke, and Dan McCallum will review the surveys to <br /> find out which businesses require follow up. This will <br /> be completed within 2 weeks . <br /> Prior to conducting any follow up the committee needs <br /> to develop a set of factors or a checklist to discuss <br /> with the business . It also needs to be clear on how <br /> the City will respond to concerns identified. <br /> City staff will be available to assist as much as <br /> possible . <br /> 5 . Goals <br /> Jerry Moehnke will meet with the City Council tonight <br /> to discuss the Committee ' s goals . The key goals are <br /> continued business retention, develop of a marketing <br /> packet and encouraging aggressive development rather <br /> than responsive . The committee will also try to work <br /> closer with the Planning Commission by providing its <br /> minutes . <br />
