1" CITY OF SHOREVIEW CITY COUNCIL
057 Jim Chalmers, Mayor
iiiiisgma 4600 North Victoria Street, Shoreview, MN 55126 Cassandra Holmstrom
-g SNOREUIEW (612) 490-4600 (612) 490-4699 Fax Jim Olson
(612)490-4750 Voice/TDD
• Marsha Soucheray
Ben Withhart
April 7, 1994
Dear EDAM Member:
On behalf of the City of Shoreview, we would like to personally invite
you to attend the Economic Development Association of Minnesota's (EDAM)
Breakfast Meeting hosted by our city on Thursday, April 21, 1994 from
7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Shoreview Community Center (please refer
to the map on the back for directions. )
The featured speaker will be Daniel J. Hill, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Micro Component Technology, Inc. (MCT) , a Shoreview
based company. Mr. Hill will discuss MCT's dramatic comeback as a
leader in the computer industry, and the cooperative partnership that
was formed between the private and public sectors. This joint effort
of both public and private investment has enabled MCT to recover and
become a true success story.
As leaders and professionals in the area of economic development, we're
0 sure many of you share our belief that the retention and expansion of
existing companies in our State and local communities should be a
paramount objective. In today's global economy, it is incumbent that
government and industry work together in order to compete and prosper.
That is why the story of Micro Component Technology stands as a shining
example of "teamwork" between public and private agencies.
After the formal program, we invite you to stay for a tour of the
Shoreview Community Center, which features a tropical indoor leisure
pool and waterslide, fitness area, indoor running track, gymnasium, and
meeting rooms. There will also be a drawing for a family coupon pass
book to the Community Center!
We appreciate this opportunity to host the EDAM Breakfast Meeting. Look
for more information on this informative event in the April issue of
EDAM News. We hope that you can join us to hear from one of Shoreview's
largest employers, and also visit our wonderful Community Center.
Thank you!
En
pOPR 11 1994
Sincerely,
1 ARliat HILLS
---, , /lc i - /
11111 a"' 0.'v+R,o .,<,,L i ,yam r
J es P. a .mers William-B` Farrell
Mla or, City of Shoreview 'Chair, Economic Development Commission
s
