.

.

,

MRS. SUE HUSTINGS, 4136 Norma Circle: One of the things I
was interested in, after I thought people were going to start
talking a little bit about this, is number one, I'm sure I'm
one of the majority that don't want the road coming through
Floral Drive for many reasons. However, if it were to come
through, I would like to know how we are going to be compen-
,sated for the roadway that would be taken away from the park?
Is there any allowance for it? I mentioned the dedication
before - I understood that they used to have to payor give to
the parks a certain amount and I don't know that before we've
ever had to give to somebody else that has easy access to their
development. I would like to know if there has been anything
ever considered about that. Or if the road is just allowed to
go through, what's going to be given to them? Also, if it did
go through, who is going to pay to move the park equipment?
We don't have much up there - we've waited a long time for
the little bit that we have - and I would like to see, if it
did go through, that it was put back in as good a shape or
better shape than it was before. I think that should be a
consideration. Another consideration is that by all these
homes being brought in, Hamline Avenue is just a zoo. You
can't get out there. If you haven't already planned it, I
think you should plan to get a stoplight either on Colleen,
the Briarknoll area, or somewhere. I know you can't do it on
Floral Drive because the freeway would back it up. But that
really should be a consideration, and soon.

MAYOR WOODBURN: Some of your questions are rhetorical,
which is perfectly fine.

MRS. HUSTINGS: I don't know the answers. I feel you
have a very hard job up there and you're not going to satisfy
everybody, but if you can't satisfy us in one way, I don't
want to be taken in two ways.

MR. DELBERT JOHNSON, 1359 Colleen Avenue: In a previous
meeting, there were various ideas discussed relative to
emergency vehicle access in the event that a single road was
put in down there. In the Briarknoll section, with that
coming straight down Colleen, I'd be curious to' know what
effect the last two major storms would have on those proper-
ties - the new properties that would be sitting down in that
area - with only one access out. I think that would put a
tremendous strain on the people on Colleen and getting on
Hamline Avenue during the rush hour.

MR. CHRISTOFFERSEN: I believe what you said, sir, is
that if this was constructed without a through lane, the way
out, primarily to Hamline Avenue, would be this long way out.
Due to the recent weather conditions, it would be much more
difficult to get out this way than it would be to come out
like this. Is that correct?

MR. JOHNSON: That's correct.

8
