<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes of Special Council Meeting <br /> <br />February 1, 1982 <br /> <br />COUNCIL LIAISON REPORTS <br /> <br />McAllister <br />Hotel/Motel Tax Proposal by Ramsey County <br />McAllister reported that copies of Resolution 81-81, Opposing the <br />Proposed Hotel/Motel Tax have been sent to our legislators; noted <br />that the matter was removed from the current Ramsey County House <br />Delegation Agenda; assumes notification will be forth coming if <br />it is placed on the agenda again. Hollenhorst noted that it is <br />also opposed by RCLLG. <br /> <br />Tennis Court Lights <br />Council was referred to memo from Bu'ckley relative to replacement <br />of two light meters for the tennis court lights which will cost <br />$50 to replace. <br /> <br />Council concurred with the replacement expenditure if the meters <br />can be installed by the Parks Dept. <br /> <br />Finance Committee <br />McAllister asked if Finance Committee input, relative to the five <br />year Capital Improvement Plan, should be requested. <br /> <br />In discussion, it was suggested that information from the Planner, <br />Engineer, Parks and Public Works be compiled for the Finance Com- <br />mittee's consideration; suggested that s sub-committee be appointed <br />to discuss the plan with input from the Engineer and Planner. <br /> <br />City of Mounds View Proposal Relative to Shared Equipment and/or <br />Personnel <br />McNiesh reported that an informal meeting of clerks and managers <br />will be scheduled relative to equipment and personnel available; <br />a mayors meeting will also probably be scheduled to discuss other <br />ramifications of the proposal. <br /> <br />Ho llenhors t <br />Human Rights Commission <br />Hollenhorst reported that the Human Rights Commission is also con- <br />cerned about a burglary prevention program. Council concurred <br />with her suggestion that the Public Safety Committee and Human <br />rights Commission work cooperatively to establish a program for <br />the City. . <br /> <br />Communication Tower Strobe Lights <br />Hollenhorst suggested that an alternate lighting system be pursued <br />with Mr. Vaughan. In discussion, it was suggested that clarifi- <br />cation be requested from Attorney Lynden relative to the City's <br />position in the matter. McNiesh was asked to contact Lynden rel- <br />ative to status of the park dedication. <br /> <br />Woodburn <br />Roseville School District 623 Chemical Health Program <br />Woodburn reported receipt of a letter from the Community Health <br />Advisory Committee requesting assistance with chemical health pro- <br />grams in District 623. <br /> <br />Council referred the request to the Human Rights Commission. <br /> <br />Applicants for Council Position <br />Woodburn reported that four persons have expressed their willing- <br />ness to serve on the Council: <br /> <br />Dale Hicks, Thomas Mulcahy, Keith Ness and Jeanne Winiecki <br /> <br />Council concurred to delay the appointment until February 8th, to <br />give Council the opportunity to talk with the potential candidates. <br /> <br />-5- <br />
