<br /> ~ CITY OF AROEN HILLS . <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> OROINANCE NO. an . <br /> AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE <br /> SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF COST <br /> INCURRED BY THE CITY TO ABATE <br /> CERTAIN NUISANCES AND TO <br /> RECOVER COST THROUGH <br /> SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS <br /> On the 24th day of April, the Arden Hills <br /> City Council ordained that Sections <br /> 600.03, Subd. 4, and 600.06 Subd. 2 of <br /> the Arden Hills City Code are hereby <br /> amended and Section 600.06, Subd. 3 is <br /> hereby added to' the Arden Hills City <br /> Gode to read as follows: <br /> 600.03, Subd 4. All buildings and <br /> structures which have been damaged by <br /> fire, decay, or other means to such an <br /> extent as to endanger public safety and <br /> which are not otherwise included in the <br /> definition of "hazardous building" in M.S. <br /> 463.15, subd. 3; <br /> 600.06, Subd. 2. SpeciaJ Assessment. If <br /> the City incurs-any cost in order to abate <br /> the following nuisances, the City may <br /> levy a special assessment against the <br /> property benefited: <br /> (1) Removal ~f snow, ice or rubbish from <br /> sidewalks, <br /> (2) Elimination of weeds from private <br /> property. <br /> (3) Elimination of public health or safety <br /> hazards, as defined in Arden Hills Code <br /> Section 600.02 and Section 600.03 from <br /> private property, excluding any structures <br /> included under the provisions of M.S. <br /> 463.15 to 463.26. <br /> (4) The trimming and care of trees and <br /> the removal of unsound trees from pri- <br /> vate property. . <br /> (5) The treatment removal of insect <br /> infested or diseased trees on private <br /> property. <br /> (6) The cost of reinspections which find <br /> non-compliance after the due date for <br /> compliance with an order to correct the <br /> City maintenance code violation. <br /> (7) Painting the exterior of a structure to <br /> remedy a City Gode violation. <br /> 600.06, $ubd. 3. Any special assess- <br /> ment levied under Subd. 600.06 Subd. 2 <br /> shall be payable in a single installment, or <br /> by up to ten -(10) equal annual install- <br /> ments, as the City Council may provide. <br /> With this exception, the provisions 01 <br /> M.S. 429.061, 429.071 and429.0B1 shall <br /> apply to assessments made underlhis <br /> Section. <br /> The adoption of Arden Hills Ordinance <br /> #377 will become effective the day <br /> following publication of the Ordinance <br /> Summary. A copy of the Ordinance is <br /> available for inspection by any person <br /> during regular business hours at the <br /> office of the City Administrator, 1425 <br /> Highway 96, Arden Hills, Minnesota <br /> 55112.
