Claims and Payroll <br /> <br />MOTION: Malone moved and Aplikowski seconded a motion to approve the Consent <br />Calendar as presented, and authorize execution of all necessary documents <br />contained therein. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Mayor Probst invited the audience to address the Council on any issue not already on the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />There were no public comments at this time. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED AND NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />A. Resolution #96-29. Accepting Bid and Authorizing Execution of Contract in the <br />Matter of the 1996 Street Improvement Project <br /> <br />Greg Stonehouse, City Engineer, reported to the Council that staff is recommending accepting <br />the bid and authorizing execution of a contract in the matter of the 1996 street improvement <br />project to T.A. Shifsky & Sons. He stated that bids received were in the range of $380,000 to <br />$434,000, with T.A. Shifsky & Sons' bid at $379,973.43. <br /> <br />Councilmember Aplikowski inquired if the City has used T.A. Shifsky & Sons in the past. <br />Mr. Stonehouse stated they had done satisfactory work for the City in 1991, and have done <br />projects in Roseville and other surrounding cities. <br /> <br />Councilmember Malone concurred with Mr. Stonehouse, and stated T.A. Shifsky & Sons did <br />the milling work for the City a few years ago, and he was personally very pleased with the <br />work they did. <br /> <br />MOTION: Hicks moved and Malone seconded a motion to approve Resolution #96-29, <br />Accepting Bid and Authorizing Execution of Contract in the Matter of the <br />1996 Street Improvement Project. The motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> <br />B. Planning Case #96.04. Bethel College Site Plan Review and SUP <br /> <br />Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Director, reported for the Council that the <br />petitioner is requesting approval of an amendment to their Master Plan to provide for an <br />expansion to an existing parking lot adjacent to the Seminary Village at the Bethel Campus. <br />He stated the proposal would increase the total number of parking spaces in this parking lot to <br />138, from the existing 76 parking spaces. <br />
