CALL TO ORDERlROLL CALL <br /> . Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Dennis Probst called to order the City Council <br /> Worksession at 4:35 p.m. Present: Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Dale Hicks and Paul <br /> . Malone; City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger; Public Works Superintendent, Dwayne Stafford; <br /> and Community Development Director, Kevin Ringwald. Councilmember Susan Keim arrived <br /> at 5:00 p.m. <br /> . Miseellaneous <br /> . a. Joint lee Arena <br /> Mayor Probst briefly updated the Council in regards to the discussions involving tl1e <br /> proposed joint ice arena in Blaine. The Council did not express an interest in attending <br /> . the joint meeting scheduled for later in the evening. <br /> Roundtable Diseussion <br /> .. a. Committee Reports/Couneil Comments <br /> . Councilmember Malone discussed recent actions taken by tl1e Planning Commission and <br /> expressed concern about lack of decision making. Staff was directed by Council to <br /> discuss this issue witl1 the Chair and Vice Chair of the Conunission. <br /> . Mayor Probst commented on the donation received from Bethel College intended for the <br /> Perry Park project. Council concurred these funds should be used to assist with the <br /> . playground structure. <br /> Administrator Fritsinger reviewed the recent discussions held by tl1e Human Rights <br /> . Committee. The Council discussed the merits of a task force versus committee <br /> arrangement. <br /> . Other issues raised by Council included the following: <br /> . staff review County CIP for County Road F turnback and Stowe Avenue costs for tl1e <br /> . City of New Brighton <br /> . staff review raised manhole on Gramsie Road <br /> . . staff review fence located on east side of Ashbach property for conformance with City <br /> Code requirements <br /> . staff review second home on County Road E, east of Pascal A venue, for problems <br /> I- with swimming pool <br /> . staff review building permits for construction taking place at home on corner of <br /> County Road E and New Brighton Road. <br /> . <br />
