• Pen. A fully enclosed and covered area attached to a coop where the chickens or ducks <br />can roam unsupervised. <br />Potentially Dangerous Dog. Any dog that has committed any of the acts set forth below: <br />When unprovoked, bites a human or domestic animal; <br />• When unprovoked, chases or approaches a person upon the streets, sidewalks or any <br />other public property in an apparent attitude of attack; or <br />• Has a known propensity, tendency, or disposition to attack unprovoked, causing injury or <br />otherwise threatening the safety of humans or domestic animals. <br />• Restrained. On a leash of not more than six (6) feet in length or on a leash which can be <br />retracted to a length of six (6) feet or less, and in the custody of a person of sufficient age to <br />adequately control the animal; in a vehicle; or confined to the owner's property by enclosure or <br />fencing. <br />• Rooster. Is a male chicken. <br />• Substantial Bodily Harm. Bodily injury which involves a temporary but substantial <br />disfigurement, or which causes a temporary but substantial loss or impairment of the function of <br />any bodily member or organ, or which causes a fracture of any bodily member. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 4 — Animals and Pets, Section 410 — Licenses, Subsection 410.01, <br />Licenses Required, is hereby amended by deleting stroke*>7,.etigh language and adding the <br />underlined language as follows: <br />410.00 - Licenses <br />410.01 License Required. <br />The following animal licenses shall be required within the City of Arden Hills. <br />Subd. 1 Dog/Cat Licenses. All dogs and cats within the City of Arden Hills, except as <br />hereinafter provided, shall be licensed. <br />A. Application. Within thirty (30) days after acquiring possession of a dog or cat which has <br />not been licensed by the City of Arden Hills, the owner of the dog or cat shall make application <br />for a dog or cat license. The application shall be on forms provided by the City of Arden Hills. <br />B. Vaccination. It shall be unlawful for any dog or cat owner to keep or maintain any dog <br />or cat older than six (6) months of age unless it shall have been vaccinated with an anti -rabies <br />vaccine certified to be effective by a licensed veterinarian. No license renewal shall be issued <br />except upon compliance with this section. <br />C. License Fee. The license fee for each dog or cat must be submitted with the <br />application. The fee will be established by City Council Resolution. <br />D. Duration of License. A license shall be issued for a period of time not to exceed the <br />expiration date of the rabies vaccination. No dog or cat license shall be renewed without proof <br />of vaccination. <br />225614v1 <br />
