The City Council will be asked to make a formal decision regarding the application under <br />Agenda Item 11 B. <br />Background <br />The City Council reviewed and discussed the ordinance for the keeping of chickens at several City <br />Council Work Sessions in May and June of 2025. Suggested revisions were made to make the <br />ordinance less restrictive and to incorporate additional best practices into the language. Following <br />these work sessions, staff was directed to incorporate the recommendations into the ordinance for <br />the Planning Commission to review. <br />The Planning Commission reviewed a draft version of the ordinance amendment for the keeping <br />of chickens at the August 6, 2025 meeting. The Planning Commission discussed multiple <br />amendments to the draft language and tabled the review with direction to staff to review and draft <br />revisions related to: <br />1.
