<br /> > , <br /> . <br /> . ~ <br /> /]'\~ILLS <br /> CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 349 <br /> An Ordinance Creating an Economic Development Commission <br /> The City Council of Arden Hills hereby ordains that the following section is added to the <br /> Municipal Code: <br /> Section 220.04 Economic Development Commission <br /> Subd. 1 Establishment of Commission. An Economic Development Commission is <br /> hereby established to facilitate positive interaction with the business community and advise the <br /> City Council and Economic Development Authority on economic development, redevelopment, <br /> and related community development issues. <br /> . Subd.2 Composition. The Economic Development Commission shall consist of seven <br /> members appointed by the City Council. Membership shall be open to any resident or non- <br /> resident business representative that is interested in the business climate and economic <br /> development direction of the City. There shall be at least three Arden Hills residents represented <br /> on the Commission. Any member ofthe Commission may be removed by a majority vote of the <br /> City Council. <br /> Subd.3 Attendance at Meetings. Any member ofthe Economic Development <br /> Commission who has unexcused absences from three consecutive meetings, or a total of one- <br /> third of all meetings in a calendar year, shall automatically be removed from office without City <br /> Council action. The City Administrator shall notify the member of his or her removal. <br /> Subd. 3 Terms and Compensation. Appointment to the Economic Development <br /> Commission shall be made on an annual basis, or more often ifrequired. Members shall be <br /> appointed for three year terms beginning on February 1 st and ending on January 3 I st of the third <br /> year. Initial appointments shall be as follows: three members shall be appointed for a term of <br /> three years, two members shall be appointed for a term oftwo years, and two members shall be <br /> appointed for a term of one year. Commission members shall serve without compensation. <br /> Subd.4 Vacancies. In the case of a vacancy during the term of office of any member of <br /> the Commission, the City Council shall appoint a member to serve the remainder of the term. A <br /> . vacancy shall exist if any of the following occur: death, failure to serve, or resignation. <br /> Subd. 5 Organization. The Mayor, with approval of the City Council, shall annually <br /> appoint one member to serve as Chair of the Commission. The Chair shall be responsible for <br /> #349 - I <br /> ---- <br />
