• CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> Operations and Finance Committee Minutes <br /> Thursday, April 20, 2000 <br /> City Hall, 4364 West Round Lake Road <br /> 1. Call to Order at 7:02 pm <br /> 2. Roll Call <br /> Members Present: Aaron Frederickson, Mark Kelliher, Ray McGraw, Terry <br /> Nygaard, Charles Stoddard, Clayton Zimmerman <br /> Also Present: Councilmember Beverly Aplikowski, Terry Post, Dwayne Stafford. <br /> 3. Approval of Minutes. The minutes were approved. <br /> 4. Old Business <br /> • a. Sewer and Water rates <br /> 1) The committee discussed the issue of sewer and water rates. <br /> 2) There was a motion that"The committee recommends that the <br /> senior citizen discount associated with sewer and water rates and <br /> have the rate applied to all resident property be the same." The <br /> motion failed 3-3. <br /> 3) There was a motion that"The committee recommends that the <br /> City of Arden Hills adopt a `odd-even' sprinkling ban during the <br /> normal sprinkling months." The motion failed 6-0. <br /> 4) Item number three on the agenda was skipped under"Old <br /> Business". <br /> b. Garbage haulers <br /> 1) The committee discussed the competitiveness of the current <br /> system and systems that are currently employed by other cities. <br /> 2) The committee discussed some of the negative aspects of the <br /> way refuse is currently hauled within the city and possible need <br /> to city"beautification." <br /> • <br />
