<br /> d <br /> . . <br /> Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting, October 27, 1986 <br /> Page 6 <br /> Hicks advised Council members of the celebration at McGuires, October 30th for <br /> Mel Fish to receive an award from the North Suburban Youth Service Bureau. <br /> Charlotte advised she will send a congratulatory letter on behalf of the <br /> Council and residents of Arden Hills. <br /> REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE MCNIESH <br /> Approval for Abdo, Abdo and Eick to Audit Cash & Investment Balances as of <br /> McNiesh Retirement Date <br /> Clerk Administrator advised that an audit of cash and investment balances as of . <br /> her retirement date by Abdo, Abdo and Eick would be done for a cost not to <br /> exceed $500.00. <br /> Hicks moved, seconded by Peck, that Council grant approval for Abdo, Abdo and <br /> Eick to audit cash and investment balances to coincide with Clerk Administrator <br /> McNiesh's retirement date. Motion carried unanimously (5-0). <br /> Ordinance No. 245, Amendina Section 3.41 of the City Code to Prohibit On Sale <br /> LiQuor Licenses Within 500 Feet of Schools and Churches - Introduce by Title <br /> Clerk Administrator explained a pizza'establishmenthad applied for a Wine <br /> License and under current code requirements on sale liquor is prohibited within <br /> 1000 ft. of schools or churches. In checking with State Liquor Control she <br /> found that there is no longer any statutory requirement for schools and <br /> churches; survey of neighboring communities indicate 500 ft. or less is the <br /> av~rage requirement. <br /> Sather moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council introduce by title Ordinance No. <br /> 24S. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> Purchase Addition Computer Hardware <br /> Council was referred to McNiesh's memo of 10-24-86 re purchase of one IBM PC <br /> with 256K and 384 Quad Board, two disk drives, and networking at a total cost <br /> of $3,656.70. <br /> In discussion, Councilmember Hicks asked if it would be wiser to purchase <br /> another IBM AT. Mayor Woodburn advised the consultant recommended this <br /> approach; next networking units should be more reasonable; <br /> Hicks moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve the purchase of additional <br /> computer hardware as outlined in memorandum of Clerk Administrator, 10-24-86, <br /> for $3,656.70. Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> Approval of Malt On Sale. Restaurant, Ciaarette and Amusement Device Licenses. <br /> Davanni's Inc. <br /> Hansen moved, seconded by Sather, that Council approve the licenses as listed <br /> for Davanni's Inc. Motion carried unanimously (5-0) <br /> Clerk Administrator noted Wine On Sale License cannot be approved until <br /> Ordinance No. 245 has had final reading. <br /> Claims and Payroll <br /> Hicks moved, seconded by Peck, that Council approve Claims and Payroll as <br /> submitted. Motion ~arried unanimously. (5-0) . <br /> Water Meter Readina Discrepancies <br /> Public Works Supervisor Raddatz stated that when townhouses were being <br /> re-sided, discrepancies between the outside meter and inside meter were found; <br /> he stated inside meters are accurate because they run constantly and are not <br /> subject to jam in inclement weather or due to power outages.
