Public Works Supervisor Raddatz reported that the pole will
be moved by Group W Cable.

Geese Complaint - Joseph Kahnke, 1451 Edgewater Ave.
Kahnke asked for help in removing the geese from Lake Johanna; expressed
concern about the health aspect - feels it is not a healthy situation.
Kahnke reported he counted 42 geese at the south end of the lake; feels
the geese are dangerous for small children in the area, particularly
at the beach; feels the situation is getting'worse and the residents
in the area would like something done about it.

Hansen reported that her survey of lake residents revealed that only
twelve out of 100 contacted wanted the geese removed; only three were
willing to help pay for the removal. Hansen reported that RCWD treated
the matter as "a joke"; DNR expressed concern and advised that a DNR
permit is needed to remove the geese, but would probably not grant a
permit for fewer than 100 geese. Hansen said she has requested that residents
not feed the geese; suggested that concerned residents write directly to
DNR, advising of the problem.

.

Woodburn said he understands that removal of the geese must be done 'in
July; noted that the removal therefore could not be accomplished this year.
Woodburn noted that the cost of removal is substantial; so, it will have
to be decided how to pay for it, if it is to be done.

Mr. Kahnke said it is the sentiment of the neighborhood to get rid of them.

REPORT OF VILLAGE ATTORNEY JAMES LYNDEN

Special Use Permit, ,Arden Hills Club Sports Clinic
Council was referred to Lynden's letter of 7/8/85 and attached draft of
Special Use Permit for Sports Clinic.

Hansen moved, seconded by Hicks, that Council approve Special Use Permit
Case No. 85-5, as drafted, and authorize its execution by the Clerk
Administrator.
