CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 96,08 <br />I <br /> RESOLUTION ENABLING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ECONOMIC <br />I DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY <br /> WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 469 authorizes cities to establish economic <br />I development authorities ("EDN') with specified powers and obligations to <br /> promote and to provide incentives for economic development and redevelopment; <br /> and <br />I WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota (the "City") has <br />I determined that it is in the best interest to establish an EDA in order to preserve <br /> and create jobs, enhance its tax base, and to promote the general welfare of the <br /> people of the City; and <br />I WHEREAS, the City has provided public notice and conducted a public hearing on the <br /> proposed adoption of this enabling resolution on January 29,1995 and has <br />I fulfilled all other legal requirements for the establishment of the Authority. <br />lit NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills: <br /> 1. An economic development authority to be known as the "Economic <br />I Development Authority of the City of Arden Hills" with all of the powers, <br /> rights, duties, and obligations as set forth in Minnesota Statutes 469.090 to <br /> 469,108 and any other law is hereby established in and for the City. <br />I 2. The Authority shall be governed by a board of five (5) commissioners who <br />I shall be members of the City Council. The Commissioners shall be elected <br /> and qualified in the same manner as the members of the City Council. <br />I 3. Nothing shall prevent the City from modifying this enabling resolution to <br /> improve upon the powers of the EDA or provide for other matters as <br /> authorized by Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.090 to 469.108 or other <br />I law, <br /> PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br />I THIS 29th DAY OF JANUARY, 1996, <br /> DENNIS PROBST, MAYOR <br />~ ATTEST: <br /> BRIAN FRITSINGER, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />I <br />
