Inc.
It is my intention to respond to Mr. Pelstring with a letter which states that the
City is not interested in his services at this time. I believe with the current work
I load at City Hall, staff is capable of undertaking the marketing of this area, Please
let me know if you havc thoughts different than mine,
I f. Summary of General Fund 1992 to 1996
The City has received its reconciliation in the amount of $50,954 from the
I Ramsey County Sheriff. The Council should note this reconciliation allows the
1995 budget to reflect a positive variance on revenues vs. expenditures
I g, League of Minnesota Cities 1996 Annual Confercnce Information
h. Valentine Avenue Street Closure Request
I Several residents attended the March 21, 1996 Public Safety Committee meeting
to discuss concerns related to traffic on Valentine A venue, It was the residents
opinion that the street has too much traffic and should become a cul-de-sac at
I Valentine Crest.
The Committee discussed the issue for about an hour and voted not to make any
I changes to the street. As the residents were not happy with this decision, the
Council may expect several phone calls or resident attendance at an upcoming
- Council meeting to discuss this issue directly with the Council.
1. Katie Lane Licensed Davcare Facilitv
I The City has received, over the past year, complaints from a resident on Katie
Lane regarding a licensed Daycare facility located in that neighborhood, The
facility is located within a single family home and is licensed by the State of
I Minnesota to have up to twelve persons,
This use is allowed by the Arden Hills Zoning Ordinance and MN State Statutes.
I Conversations with the Daycare operator indicated that the number of children
present did not exceed the limit allowed by state law, After further investigation,
stalInotified the complainant that the use met the requirements of the State of
. Minnesota and no additional follow up would occur by the City.
The complainant has continued to pursue this issue, As a result, Staff is
I monitoring the situation as it relates to the Arden Hills nuisance ordinance, While
the investigation is not complete, I am not particularly excited to pursue nuisance
I charges against the Daycare center based on the facts available. I wanted to make
the Council aware of this should you receive any phone calls from the
complainant.
~
I
