1- ..
I CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
~ MEMORANDUM
DATE: April 23, 1996
I TO: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrator
I FROM: Dwayne Stafford, Public Works Superintendent ~~,
I SUBJECT: Cleveland Avenue/County Road D Intersection Reconstruction
Backg-round
I The Arden Hills public Works Department had earlier provided information concerning the
County reconstruction of the Cleveland Avenue/County Road D intersection. Staff had asked the
County that sidewalks in the Arden Hills comer be omitted from the plan, Staff instead requested
I an eight foot trail be constructed on the east shoulder of Cleveland connecting the Cleveland/D
intersection to the existing trail ending one block north at Cleveland and Glenpaul Avenue as
part of the project.
I Plans and Specifications
Ie Plans and specifications were received by Staff showing the sidewalk deleted and a trail as part
of the project as requested by staff. The proposed trail will have an impact on the residential lot
at the south east comer of Glenpaul and Cleveland. The need for removing a portion of fence
I constructed within the right-of-way exists, and the Arden Hills Parks Superintendent has sent a
letter explaining this to the affected residents.
I Costs
The total estimated cost to Arden Hills for this project is estimated to be $4619.41, of which
$3,959.45 may be MSA Fundable. This amounts to:
I Trail $2,459.45
EVP $1,500.00
I Storm Sewer $ 659.96
I As previously directed by Council, Staff has informed Ramsey County that the EVP system
requested by Roseville and New Brighton be paid for January 2, 1997, as this was not a budgeted
item for 1996. Mr. Dan Solar the Project Engineer stated that would be acceptable although he
I did not understand the problem as he anticipated the EVP system would be MSA Fundable.
I
f'
I
