I
PROJECT SCHEDULE
The following is a proposed schedule for the improvements. The critical issues in the progress
of this schedule are the scheduling of informational and public hearings. Based upon this
I schedule, it is anticipated that the construction would be complete by late September 1997.
Project Task Date
I Receive Feasibility Study, November 12, 1996
Order Public Hearing and Informational Meeting
I Hold Informational Meeting December 3, 1996
I Hold Public Hearing December 9, 1996
Order preparation of Plans and Specifications
I Approve Plans and Specifications, January 27, 1997
Order Project, and Advertise for Bids
I Order Assessment Hearing February 10, 1997
'- Open Bids February 27, 1997
City Council Receives Bids March 10, 1997
I Hold Assessment Hearing March 31, 1997
I Award Contract May 12, 1997
I Begin Construction May, 1997
Complete Construction September, 1997
I This schedule includes a 30 day appeal period between the assessment hearing and contract award.
This may be modified as required by the City Council.
I CONCLUSION
I Based upon the City's ongoing pavement management program, the streets outlined in this report
have been selected for each respective improvement or seal coat maintenance in 1997. This report
I recommends that the City complete the seal coat projects with City funds as a routine maintenance
procedure. It also recommends that the bituminous overlay and residential street reconstruction!
rehabilitation portions of the project be funded through the assessment of 50% of the project cost
, to benefitting property owners, while the City finances the remainder of the cost through available
City funds,
I FEAS-520.080 -13- 520-080-10
