I The ALHOA is an amount of expenditure by the community to support, or assist the development of affordable and life-cycle housing or maintain existing affordable and life..cycle housing. Expenditure of the ALHOA is required of communities that want to compete for access to over $11.0 million available I annually through the LCA's three funding accounts The ALHOA is derived from the fonnula prescribed in the law involving market value, tax capacity, and tax rates provided to the Metropolitan Council annually by the county assessor, .. I rehabilitation programs, the use of CDBG 'monies for housing activ:!ics or a tax Icvy to SI.;pport a local or county HRA, I The 1997 ALHOA for your community is the amount found in the shaded column on the enclosed ALI-IOA notification, I As required by law, beginning in 1998, the Metropolitan Council mllst annually determine whether participating communities have eXFnded this ALHOA during the previous calendar year. If not, the community may be required to distribut~ this ALHOA to the Housing Incentive Account or to their local or I county HM.
