MEMORANDUM <br /> DATE: December 13, 1996 <br /> ~ <br /> TO: Mayor and City Council <br /> FROM: Brian Fritsinger, City Administrato~ <br /> SUBJECT: 1997 Pay Plan <br /> - <br /> - Requested Action <br /> - The council is asked to consider changes to the 1997 Pay Plan. <br /> - Back!!round <br /> I The Arden Hills City Council historically has amended its Pay Plan at the beginning of each <br /> calendar year. The proposed changes to the 1997 Plan were discussed several times as part of the <br /> Local 49 negotiations. <br /> I During 1996, the City Council negotiated a labor agreement with the Local 49 which included a <br /> 3% increase in base pay and an additional $10 per month to be contributed to the insurance <br /> .. premiums. These figures were included in the recently adopted 1997 Budget. <br /> The effect of the increase of3% on pay ranges is shown in Attachment A. The increase of$IO <br /> I results in a total monthly insurance contribution of $31 0 (a 3.3% increase). Health insurance <br /> premiums have increased 9.2% and Dental insurance premiums have increased 15.5% for <br /> I calendar year 1997. <br /> Recommendation <br /> I Staff recommends the City Council move to approve the 1997 Pay Plan as attached, including a <br /> 3% increase in pay ranges and a $10 per month increase in insurance contributions. <br /> I BF/sls <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> it <br /> I <br />
