.

.

.

August 28, 1989 Council Meeting, Page Five

the cards on the table" and indicate to Trammell Crowe that the City would
prefer to see more from them in this development proposal.

Mayor Sather noted that this land merits no additional City financial
involvement.

Councilmember Mahowald asked Berger to check on the work on Old Snelling
Avenue, as the construction is beyond the normal right-of-way area.
Berger will check on this and advise the Council at the next meeting.

Mayor Sather noted that he has received complaints about the former
engineering firm, SEH, and that residents have complained about abrupt,
curt answers at the SEH office when they call. He felt that SEH was not
showing creativity or resources and SEH was presenting a negative image
for the City. Sather recommended that SEH's services on the County Road
E-2/Cleveland project and the Keithson project should be terminated
immediately and turned over to the City's current engineering firm, Maier
Stewart and Associates for their completion.

Councilmember Malone asked if MSA would be able to pick up these
projects. Mayor Sather replied yes they would be agreeable to these
projects.

Councilmember Growe moved, seconded by Malone, to terminate SEH's work on
the E-2/Cleveland and Keithson projects. Motion carried (5-0).

The Oak Avenue project is not included in the termination, as the message
should be clear to SEH that they should be more responsive in their
business dealings with Arden Hills and their residents.

Administrator Berger reminded the Council of the upcoming budget work
sessions on September 5, 12 and 18.

ADJOURN

Mahowald moved, seconded by Growe that the meeting be
adjourned at 8:28 P.M. Motion carried unanimously (5-0).

Gaf!? t!rger~

Clerk Administrator

~~

Thomas R.
