MEETING <br />MONDAY, JUNE 11, 1990, 6:30 P.M. - CITY HALL <br /> <br />CALL 'TO ORDER <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Sather <br />called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL '!he roll being called the following members were present: <br />Mayor 'Ih0Il'aS Sather, Councilmembers Nancy Hansen, Paul <br />Malone, JoAnn Growe and 'Ih0Il'aS Mahowald. Also present were Public Works <br />SUpervisor Dan Winkel, Clerk Administrator Gary Berger and Deputy Clerk Catherine <br />Iago. <br /> <br />1989 ANNUAL <br />FINANCIAL REPORI' <br /> <br />Auditor Gary Gruen, representing Al:do, Al:d.o & Eick, was <br />present to review the 1989 Annual Financial Report for <br />the Council and members of the Finance Committee. <br /> <br />Council thanked Gary for the presentation and rep:>rt. <br /> <br />AOOPI' <br />AGENDA <br /> <br />Malone moved, seconded by Hansen, to adopt the June 11 <br />Agenda as suJ::xnitted. Motion carried UI1aIilinously. (5-0) <br /> <br />APPROVE <br />MINUI'ES <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Growe, to approve the May <br />21 Worksession and May 29, 1990 REgular Council Meeting <br />Minutes as suJ::xnitted. Motion carried UI1aIilinously. (5-0) <br /> <br />CONSENT <br />Cl'LENDAR <br /> <br />Councilmerober Malone requested discussion on Item 4 (b) , <br />Fireworks Permit for Northwestern College; questioned <br />what Class fireworks will be displayed. <br /> <br />Deputy Clerk Iago advised the person applying for the pemit did not specify the <br />firew=ks classification. <br /> <br />Council concurred to remove this item from the Consent Calendar and requested <br />staff =ntact Northwestern College to determine the fireworks classification. It <br />. was further suggested that this matter be placa:l on the June 25 Council Agenda <br />for =nsideration. <br /> <br />Hansen moved, seconded by Malone, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar, deleting Item 4 (b) Fireworks Permit for Northwestern College pending <br />classification of fireworks, and authorize execution of all necessary documents <br />contained therein: <br /> <br />a. Approve Partial Payment, HRS Construction carrpany. <br />b. Deleted. <br />c. Approve Request for Door to Door Canvass, Minnesota Public Interest Group. <br />d. Approve List of Clailns and Payroll. <br /> <br />Motion carried unanimously. (5-0) <br /> <br />PUBLIC CCMMENTS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />CHANGE ORDER; <br />ENVIRONEI', mc., <br />ASBESIDS ABl\.TIMENT <br /> <br />Council was referred to a rep:>rt from Clerk Administrator <br />Berger dated 6-7-90, regarding the change order suJ:xnitted <br />by Environet, Inc., for asbestos abatement at the Kem <br />Milling site. <br /> <br />Council1nernber Malone stated payment of the change order seems appropriate due to <br />the removal of additional asbestos which was apparently hidden and not detected <br />in previous inspections. <br />
