<br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />CITY OF ARDEN HILLS <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 7t--?l <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INCLUSION OF <br />COUNCILMEN, COMMITTEE MEMBERS, POLICE <br />RESERVE OFFICERS AND CERTAIN VOLUNTEER <br />CITIZENS IN WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION <br />COVERAGE OF CITY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 176.011, Subd. 9(5) of Minnesota <br />Statutes, as amended, provides that a resolution must be <br />adopted by the governing body of a political subdivision in <br />order for its elected or appointed officials to be covered <br />under the Minnesota Workmen's Compensation Act (Chapter 176 <br />of Minnesota Statutes, as amended), and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council, the governing <br />body of the City of Arden Hills, deems it advisable and in the <br />public interest to provide workmen's compensation coverage not <br />only for Councilmen, members of its committees and commissions, <br />and police reserve officers but also those of its citizens who <br />from time to time volunteer their services without pay for the <br />improvement and maintenance of public sites, spaces and parks <br />located within the City, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, Be it hereby resolved by the Arden <br />Hills City Council that all Councilmen, members of the City's <br />commissions and committees, police reserve officers, and those <br />citizens who from time to time volunteer their services without <br />pay for the improvement and maintenance of public sites, spaces <br />and parks located within the City are hereby deemed to be <br />covered and protected by the provisions of the Minnesota <br />Workmen's Compensation Act (Chapter 176 of Minnesota Statutes, <br />as amended ) . <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Administrator <br />of the City of Arden Hills shall take all necessary steps to <br />cause the officials and volunteers enumerated in the previous <br />paragraph hereof to be covered by the workmen's compensation <br />insurance policy procured and maintained by the City including <br />furnishing the workmen's compensation insurance carrier with <br />certified copies of this Resolution. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Passed by the Arden Hills City Council this 8th day <br />of November, 1976. <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~/j1~ <br /> <br />Charlotte McNiesh, <br />Clerk-Administrator <br />
