Arden Hills, MN 55112 <br /> August 24, 2005 <br /> Arden Hills City Planner <br /> Arden Hills City Council Members <br /> 1245 West Highway 96 <br /> Arden Hills, MN 55112 <br /> To Whom It May Concern: <br /> I am a resident of the Chatham neighborhood in Arden Hills. 1 am writing to <br /> suggest that the residents of the Chatham neighborhood have special <br /> provisions allowed them regarding the new front porch ordinance. Due to <br /> the fact that setbacks in the Chatham neighborhood are less than the <br /> assumed forty feet, it is necessary for Chatham residents to have special <br />. allowances made in regards to the setback regulations. <br /> Neighborhoods having houses with front porches offer an opportunity for <br /> increased socialization and sense of community, and may also increase the <br /> security of the neighborhood. Updated residence entrances will potentially <br /> increase the neighborhood's housing values and tax base. <br /> Please consider granting special provisions regarding the Chatham <br /> neighborhood's setback requirement on the new front porch ordinance. <br /> , <br /> Shelly Hawkins <br />. <br />
