I have considered attaching the garage to the house, but am unable to do this because it <br />will not meet the sideline requirements for side set back because of the triangular shape of my lot. <br />The roof is caving in on the existing garage, so something needs to done with the building. The <br />walls are still sound, so I would like to add onto the existing garage, install new roof trusses, to <br />the size of36' long x 34' wide. <br />I was informed that I could build two separate buildings of 72)3 square feet each, but feel this <br />would be out of character with other buildings in the neighborhood, and is not economical. . <br />My neighbor directly behind me currently has a garage that is larger that what is allowed, so my <br />garage would not be out of character with other garages in my neighborhood.
