City Admi..I~'" ~ <br />- <br />- FROM: Kevin Ringwald, Community Development Directo~ <br />I <br /> SUBJECT: Code Enforcement Activities <br />I Given, the workload that is being requested to be completed by the Community Development <br /> Department code enforcement in the City is receiving less attention than was previously afforded <br />I to it. Also, the community survey did express an interest in improving code enforcement. To <br /> these ends, I would recommend that monies be set aside in the 1998 budget for an intern whose <br />I principal responsibilities would be code enforcement. <br /> The other activity that the intern could be of assistance to the department would be in researching <br />I and producing chronologically correct zoning maps using City ordinances and the GIS, The <br /> result of this exercise would ensure that the current zoning map is correct and provide a historical <br /> analysis of zoning in the City (In certain land use court cases that I have been involved in this has <br />I , been a pivotal piece of information). <br /> If you require any additional information or wish to discuss this further, then please let me know. <br />I cc: Dave Scherbel, Building Official/Code Enforcement Officer <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I- <br />I <br />
